AT&T TV offre en exclusivité Sony PIX, CNN News : http://publications.mediapost.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Articles.san&s=81791&Nid=42271&p=457437. "After repeated delays, AT&T confirmed that its mobile TV initiative is launched. Powered by Qualcomm's MediaFLO technology, AT&T Mobile TV will feature a programming lineup that includes familiar channels such as ESPN Mobile TV, CBS Mobile, NBC 2Go, Fox Mobile, MTV and Comedy Central. It will also offer two exclusive channels: Sony Pictures Television's PIX, which offers current films from the studio's library, and CNN Mobile Live, providing breaking news coverage as well as programs like "American Morning," "Larry King Live" and "Anderson Cooper 360." During the first 60 days on air, AT&T Mobile TV will also feature CNCRT, a concert channel from entertainment producer Control Room that will show concert videos from acts including Avril Lavigne, Chris Brown, Jay Z, Sheryl Crow and Fall Out Boy. AT&T is charging $13 a month for a limited package providing access to four channels (CBS Mobile, Fox Mobile, NBC 2Go and NBC News 2Go); $15 for a basic unlimited mobile TV package; and $30 to add unlimited Web browsing and unlimited access to AT&T's existing CV on-demand mobile video service. Customers do not incur voice or data charges when using the service. The wireless carrier is debuting the service on two high-end phones: the LG Vu, a touchscreen device with a music player and 2.0 megapixel camera; and the Samsung Access, which has a landscape display, camera and external stereo speakers. The phones are priced, respectively, at $299.99 and $199.99 after $100 mail-in rebates..."
"Owners of more than 800 local TV stations where ad revenue has plunged recently said they've formed a group that's testing three standards for sending local digital TV signals to cell phones, laptops and other mobile devices. The Open Mobile Video Coalition said at the National Association of Broadcasters meeting in Las Vegas that it will push for an open standard by next year that would allow members to bypass cell phone companies and tap into what they think will be a $2 billion market for mobile advertising. The station owners say transmitting directly to mobile devices would give them a third means of delivering local programming - and capturing revenue - along with broadcasting to TVs and streaming it on station-owned Web sites."
"Mobile-TV ads are projected to jump from $335 million this year to more than $2.5 billion in 2013, according to a report from Juniper Research. By 2010, the technology will become more lucrative than SMS in the mobile-ad market."
"Mobile TV continues to be a source of excitement for the mobile industry, but the recent Mobile TV World Summit in London was a venue at which some firms involved in the mobile TV ecosystem vented their concerns about the success of the service thus far, according to Digital Broadcast. This is not an IPTV issue, strictly speaking, but since mobile TV is one aspect of any major telco's push into the TV realm, it may offer some valuable lessons. One of those lessons, according to some of the London event, is that service providers need to simplify packaging and pricing of mobile TV. At least one speaker urged service providers to include mobile TV in flat-rate service plans, rather than charging an additional fee of up to $15 for the service."

"LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics announced they will partner to develop mobile digital TV technologies, committing to a tag-team effort to persuade the non-profit Advanced Television Systems Committee to select their platform as the single common in-band mobile DTV standard for the North American market. The LG/Samsung mobile standard employs existing terrestrial digital TV broadcast bandwidth, promising minimum equipment investment and no impact on conventional digital TV platforms. The ATSC is expected to name its North American mobile/handheld DTV standard in early 2009 following completion of technology trials spearheaded by the Open Mobile Video Coalition broadcasters group."
L'OMVC finalise ses tests mobile DTV : http://www.fiercewireless.com/press-releases/open-mobile-video-coalition-submits-mobile-dtv-technical-trial-results-advanced-telev. "Broadcasting industry association the Open Mobile Video Coalition announced completion of its mobile digital TV technical trials and evaluations, and will submit its findings to the Advanced Television Systems Committee standards organization. The OMVC, which represents over 850 commercial and public TV stations, conducted the mobile DTV trials in cooperation with engineers from the non-profit Association for Maximum Service Television trade organization, collecting more than 140 hours and 1,000 miles of mobile data during three-month trials in the San Francisco and Las Vegas markets. According to the OMVC, the trials demonstrated full-motion mobile DTV at pedestrian and highway speeds, confirming reception as far as 40 miles from the transmitter; in addition, mobile DTV does not interfere with established FCC-compliant primary digital television broadcasts. The OMVC recommends that the ATSC establish an open mobile DTV standard in time for February 2009's federally-mandated digital broadcast transition."
